Managing Lists

A list is a named set of accounts in a project. Every project has three standard lists, and you can create custom lists alongside them. How lists affect decisions, and how accounts move between the standard lists, is covered in Lists.

Creating a list

Create New List on the Lists page takes a name and a description. Names are normalized to lowercase, with spaces and hyphens turned into underscores and other characters removed, so High Risk - Q3 becomes high_risk_q3. Rules, the API and your integration refer to the list by this name, and it cannot be changed later. Lists are also created automatically when a rule action or an authenticate call’s lists field names a list that does not exist.

Adding and removing accounts

There is no file upload. To add from a CSV, paste its account ID column. Only accounts Verisoul has already scored can be added. Changes can take a few seconds to appear in tables and counts.

Standard list conflicts

An account can be on any number of custom lists, but on only one of Allow, Block and Main Account. Adding it to one of them moves it off the other when the list hierarchy allows the move: Accounts held back during a bulk add are listed in List Membership Conflicts. To move an account down the hierarchy, remove it from its current list first.

Removing from a standard list

When an account is removed from Allow, Block or Main Account, Verisoul evaluates it again, and a rule that adds accounts to that list can put it back. Change the rule first to keep the account off.

A list’s page

A list’s page shows its accounts with a First Added to List column, and can switch to the sessions of those accounts from the last 89 days. List entries record only when an account was added. The Rules column and the account’s Hit Rules show which rules acted on it.

Deleting a list

Custom lists can be deleted from their page. Allow, Block and Main Account are permanent.

Through the API

The Lists API covers the same operations, plus changing a list’s description (PATCH /list/{list_name}) and moving up to 1,000 accounts between lists in one call (POST /list/{list_name}/account/move). The AI Agent can also create lists and change their members.

Permissions

Admins have every permission. Allow, Block and Main Account change the decision your integration receives, so they need Change Allow and Block lists in addition to Manage custom lists. See Managing Users. Each project has its own lists, including its own standard lists, and Sandbox and Production projects are separate.
